Iraq
Double pipeline to the Fao Terminal
The Australian company Leighton Contractors is laying two 48" pipelines over a length of 60 kilometres to two new offshore oil tanker loading buoys for the Iraqi government. This project is vital to the reconstruction of Iraq, which has major plans to rebuild its oil and gas industry following years of turmoil. The Fao Terminal is about 150 kilometres from Basra, near the border with Kuwait and Iran.
As part of the project A. Hak International B.V. is laying the onshore section of the two 48" export pipelines from the Fao Terminal. Our contribution comprises:
- The mechanical work for the construction of the Beach Valve Station on the coast (the connection to the ocean pipeline)
- The construction of 8 kilometres of double pipeline to the Fao Terminal, including two scraper traps and two metering skids
- The laying of connecting pipework
